Hello everyone,

I would like to give you all a quick report on my first trip that I conducted here in Magdalena bay over the past week.  My clients Bob Hill and Peter Libkind had some excellent weather for their trip.  We had flat calm seas that were teaming with marlin and dorado with the occasional tuna mixed in.  The marlin were a little tough to get to come up on the teaser as their is so much natural bait in the water they were keyed in on that.  We did get enough up to keep things very interesting and we caught pleanty of marlin on the fly.  I am off for my next trip and I will be posting photos of both trips as soon as I return.  Until then tight lines.

Baja Mexico fly fishing report – An update from Magdalena Bay

Hello to all,

I just want to give a quick report on what has happened since I have arrived here in Magdalena bay.  As I mentioned in my last post I was going to do a television show for the outdoor channel over the weekend.  We did the show and it should be good as we found fish and had a good time.  I will let everyone know when it will air when I get the dates.

As far as the fishing here it is very good at the moment.  We have plenty of marlin, tuna and dorado.  We had excellent weather for the last four days but today the wind came up making the seas lumpy but not the boats are still able to fish.  The forecast if for the wind to blow one more day and then back off giving us good conditions once again.  My first guests arrive tomorrow evening and we are off for a six day adventure.  With all the fish we have in the area it should be great as long as the wind cooperates.  I will be sure to post a report when return along with some photos.  Until then good fishing to all.

Water Temperature – 75 / 83
Air Temperature – 71 /88

Hello everyone,

I want to give you all an up date on the fishing the past few days.  On the East Cape the fishing the past few days has bee great.  We have had very good weather the past few days with no wind and flat seas.  The fishing for tuna and dorado has been strong.  Most of the tuna are being found under the porpoise and have been between thirty and forty pounds with some fish pushing one hundred pounds.  The dorado bite has returned with some boats finding a piece of a dead whale yesterday and having great action.  The fishing for bill fish continues with a fair number of sail fish still in the area and a few marlin as well.

I am writing this from here in Mag Bay.  I will be here for the next two months doing my fly fishing in blue water seminars.  The fishing here has also started to heat up.  We have had some very good fishing for tuna and dorado over the past few days and the marlin are starting to show in good numbers.  I will be shooting a show for the out door channel beginning on Wednesday and then my seminars will begin. I will be provideing all of you with updates and photos of each trip.  I am off to fish the mangroves and see if I can’t find a snook as today is my birthday so I am going to try and get a little fishing in.  Until next time tight lines.
