Over the last week we did have some north wind but most days have been beautiful. Tuesday however was a bit overcast from the hurricane outside of us, but we have seen some pretty good fishing overall. The beaches have some jacks and medium sized roosterfish and hopefully it will continue for a few more days. The billfish bite is the top bite on the East Cape at the moment when it comes to consistency. Dorado are scattered throughout the area as well and the ones we did catch averaged around 15-30lbs
Cabo has some great billfish action at the moment as well. Over the last week boats have been coming back with several flags daily.
The weather is looking pretty good over the weekend and we will have a new report up shortly especially to let everyone know how the beaches are doing.
The weatehr is beatiful with comfortable highs and cool evenings. Fishing remains fair and some days are better than other but that’s fishing…We do have some scattered dorado around, but recently the sail fish and marlin bite picked up big time. The main bite roughly 15 miles out and the boats are doing very well. Also, we have small to mid sized roosterfish around the marina and are a lot of fun on a light rod. The wind has started to pick up a bit, but conditions are still fish-able, On heavy wind days we do always have the option of fishing Cabo which is seeing descent marlin and dorado action.
Sierra have started showing up now the the water temperature has dropped a bit and we should see a great season for sierra fishing. Also, Mag Bay just seems to be getting better every week and we are very excited start fishing it in early November.
If anyone has questions regarding trips or packages please feel free to give us a call to discuss.
Over the last week we definitely saw a decrease in the action overall. The last few weeks the fishing was incredible for bonito and dorado…However, the sardines are gone and the bite has definitely slowed down. We are starting to see some wind picking up and there is still some scattered dorado around.
The East Cape will still fish for a few weeks before the major winds starts and we will definitely keep everyone posted on the conditions. There is a storm in the area and we will be watching it, but at most we might get a few days of rain.
We will be heading to Mag Bay in the first week of November for our winter season. The reports I have received thus far from the area is that it’s fishing incredibly! The Reel Baja has several packages available for Mag Bay, so if anyone wants to discuss them, please give me a call and we are to assist.
