Hi All

At long last there are some good schools of sardina around! The schools are sporadic and the overall size is on the small size, but the key is to have them. Just having sardina with you makes all the difference . We got into some amazing bonito, skipjack and small roosters using the sardina to keep the action going and we had happy clients.

marlin.

Overall, the top bite is the white bonito action. These guys are beautiful and very exciting on the fly. Over the last week we found plenty of fish and had a lot of fun with these guys last week. Off the light house, we are seeing schooling dorado in the 10-15 lbs range and the marlin bite has slowed down a bit, but the majority of the action we are seeing is from sail fish when looking for marlin. If you are looking for big tuna you will have to run out roughly 50 miles. Schools of tuna are being found with porpoise and there are reports of  tuna over 50lbs in the schools.

rooster.

So, with the ride being 50 miles out , we have decide to stay  local and double down on the fishing locally since it’s been that good. The beach is tough right now… We have had a lot of cloud cover recently which makes it even harder to sigh fish. The roosters that are here however are big, but you have to put in a lot of time. We headed north over the weekend and we got one nice 60 lb rooster though.  August and September packages will be out shortly and if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call.

Tight lines,

Jeff
