Weather: We had excellent weather all week. We had a few mornings that were slightly on the chilly side with slightly over cast skies but with in an hour or so of the sun getting above the horizon the clouds burned off giving us sunny skies and perfect temperatures. We saw wonderful sea conditions as well with flat calm seas in the mornings followed by a slight breeze from the South in the afternoon that created perfect fishing conditions.
Air temperatures: Low 65 High 86
Water temperatures: Low 66 High 77
Beach Fishing Report: This past week the beach fishing picked up once again as we saw roosterfish along with lady fish and jacks all caught from the beach. My guide lance Peterson had Garrett Gill and his friend Clay out on the beach for a day as they were part of a group of eight from the Chase Lumber Company that visited us for their annual fishing trip. Garrett and clay had very good action all day. Clay had never caught a roosterfish and he had landed four before lunch. Garrett was not far behind as he brought a few to had as well. As the morning turned into afternoon they were able to cast to some very nice sized roosters and jacks turning a few but could not fool the bigger fish into eating their fly. The beach is starting to heat up once more and as we start to see more bait along our beaches we should start to see more fish.
Inshore Fishing Report: This past week the inshore fishing was very good. We saw some bigger roosterfish this past week that seemed to want to hang just in a little deeper water than those caught from shore. These fish have been located by the bird schools that are circling above them and swooping down as the roosters push and chase the bait to the surface. We have not only seen some nice roosters inshore but we also saw some nice jacks as well. Jim from the Chase Lumber group hooked a very nice jack on his eight weight rod with in the first hour of fishing. Jim and his friend Mike continued to catch jacks and lady fish until they said mercy from pulling on so many fish.
Offshore Fishing Report: This past week the action for the yellow fin tuna in the area has been very good. Two of the boys from the Chase lumber group went out on a panga one day during their trip and boated fifteen yellow fin tuna ranging from five to forty pounds and one stripe marlin. They were back at the hotel sitting by the pool before eleven in the morning!! We continue to see very good action for bill fish. We have stripe marlin and sail fish in the area that have been willing to come into the teasers giving us very good shots casting flies to them. We continue to see dorado in the area as well. Most of the dorado that were caught this pas week were large bulls that seemed to be swimming by themselves. This past week we did not as many of the smaller dorado that run in schools giving us a chance to cast a fly the them. With any luck they will return shortly. We also have had some nice skip jack action as well.
High-light of the Week: I would like to say thank you to the entire Chase Lumber group that fished with us this past week. It will be a week that we will remember for a long time.

Weather: We started to see our air temperatures bump up ever so slightly this past week. We are also starting to feel a little humidity in the air as well. Our evenings are not cooling off as quickly as they were just a few weeks ago. We began the week with slightly overcast skies and a North wind but by Thursday we were back to calm seas and bright sunny conditions.
Air temperatures: Low 65 High 86
Water temperatures: Low 66 High 77
Beach Fishing Report: This past week the beach fishing was difficult early in the week as the North wind and waves it produced made the water churned up and off color. By Thursday the wind had stopped and the water had settled slightly making my trip with Scott Turnipseed and his group of friends challenging as the wind had caused the water to be slightly off color and the bait had moved from where it was located before the wind. With persistence we were able to find a couple of roosterfish that the group could throw their flies at and although we had some great followers we could not entice a roosterfish to eat the fly. We also saw some nice jacks but again they had a case of lock jaw.
Inshore Fishing Report: Between the winds this past week the inshore was very good. I spent three days with my guest Dave Waltz and his wife Nancy from Minnesota and we had some great fishing. We found numerous roosterfish and jacks that were willing to eat the bait we were throwing and every once in a while we could fool one of them into eating a fly. On the first day we were out together Dave hooked and landed two very nice roosterfish and that afternoon he hooked a very big rooster. After fighting this fish for just over an hour with the fish pulling line off the reel and the boat chasing it down so we could get line back only to have the process start all aver again the twenty pound tippet broke. After this Dave took out his frustrations out on a nice big school of ladyfish and after catching more than he could count he felt a little better. I hate to say it but Dave’s story dose not end here. The very next day Dave hooked a very big jack that our captain estimates was about forty pounds and after another long fight the fish once again escaped when the leader broke. We continue to see some bigger roosterfish under bird schools along with some very nice schools of jacks. The inshore fishing for ladyfish is very good when you find them. I have also heard of some very nice pargo staring to show in the area as well.
Offshore Fishing Report: We continue to see good action for marlin and sailfish. The fishing for Dorado has picked up from last week. If you were willing to take the long ride outside some of the boats found some very good action for yellow fin tuna that were found with the porpoise. This past week we also had some very good action for bonito as well.
High-light of the Week: The fishing is picking up and should continue to get better this next week if the winds stay down.

Weather: The weather this week was very nice for the most part. We did see some North wind sprinkled over the weekend with Saturday the 21st being the worst. Today Sunday the 22nd the wind seemed to be backing off and we should see a very nice week this up coming week. This past week we had lots of sunshine and a few scattered high clouds but the temperatures were just about perfect.
Air temperatures: Low 61 High 86
Water temperatures: Low 66 High 76
Beach Fishing Report: This past week the beach fishing continued to be good but challenging. We are still seeing plenty of big Jacks that are cursing our beaches but getting them to eat a fly has been where the challenge lies. These jacks seem interested and will chase the fly but they seem to have a case of lock jaw. If you get enough chances and can stay with them you will have a good shot at enticing one to grab the fly. We are seeing some nice rooster fish as well but they to have been chasing the fly but will not totally commit. Keeping with the roosterfish the smaller fish have been more aggressive and will eat the fly when you find them.
Inshore Fishing Report: We have seen a few scattered sardines this past week and if you were lucky enough to find a bait boat that had some and were willing to buy a few it was well worth it. The rooster fishing this past week was very good if you had sardines. A very nice school of roosterfish were found just South of La Ribera and every sardine that hit the water has immediately eaten but a roosterfish. These fish were all between five and about fifteen pounds. We have seen some very nice Bonita and a few pargo this past week as well.
Offshore Fishing Report: We continue to see good action for marlin and sailfish. The fishing for Dorado is slow with most of the fish being singles. We did not have any tuna in the area this past week but the action for billfish kept everyone plenty busy.
High-light of the Week: My trip to the states last week was great and it was wonderful to get in a little trout fishing but I am glad to be home here in Baja.

Weather: This past week the North winds were non existent once again giving us flat seas and calm conditions. We saw lots of sunshine mixed with some high clouds making this past week one of the nicest Easter weeks I can remember.
Air temperatures: Low 64 High 89
Water temperatures: Low 67 High 76
Beach Fishing Report: This past week we saw the return of the smaller roosterfish we have been seeing over the past few weeks. As far as the bigger roosters we were starting to see before last weeks wind they were nowhere to be found. We have some very large schools of Jack Crevelle that are cruising along our beaches but most of them continue to have lock jaw as they can be seen daisy chaining as they are still in spawning mode. If you get a fly in and around the school without spooking them a few fish will chase the fly and show interest.
Inshore Fishing Report: This past week the inshore fishing was tough as the bigger roosterfish were hard to locate and the jacks continue to be more interested in spawning that eating. Most of the anglers this past week spent time off shore.
Offshore Fishing Report: This past week the offshore fishing continued to be the place to be. We have a good number of stripe marlin and Dorado in the area along with some sailfish mixed in as well. The dorado have been showing off of La Ribera out about fifteen miles with the marlin and sailfish being found anywhere from Pescadero to Cabo Pulmo. This past week my client Ron Guerra caught and landed his first marlin on a fly. I also had a great day with Tim Suddith and his son where we caught a sailfish. I ended the week with Doug Atmore and his son with both of them catching some very nice Dorado. Doug had a brand new ten weight rod that had never been fished and was very happy when the first fish on that particular rod ended up being a thirty pound Dorado.
High-light of the Week: I would like to wish everyone a vary Happy Easter.
Water temperatures: Low 66 High 73
Beach Fishing Report: The fishing along the beach was excellent for small rooster fish and even a few small jacks mixed in. Our guest Gary Chandler from Tacoma Washington fished with my guide Lance Peterson from the beach on Wednesday the 14th as I was in Cabo guiding other clients and they had a bang up day. Lance and Gary report they had a great day catching over a dozen small rooster fish and a couple small jacks. Lance also reported they fished for some nice croaker as well.
Inshore Fishing Report: Inshore fishing this past week was very good for Rob Morton. Rob and I fished out of a panga on Thursday the 15th where we encountered some very nice schools of bigger rooster fish. Rob hooked and landed two very nice rooster fish both fish between fifteen and twenty pounds. Rob and I were able to get many other shots at other roosters as well having two very big rooster fish try and eat the fly but as they took a swipe at the fly the fish just plain missed leaving Rob and I saying to each other did you see that!!
Offshore Fishing Report: This past week the offshore fishing remained consistent for medium sized dorado along with marlin. The marlin have bee concentrated in the area of Cabo Pulmo. The dorado have been in the same area. I did see a boat as well this week flying a number of Tuna flags but I did not hear where the captain found them.
High-light of the Week: If the weather continues to cooperate and the fishing remains on the track it is on now we should see some very good fishing in the up coming weeks.
