Weather: This past week we saw lots of sunshine and very few clouds. It was very hot and humid. We had a little rain in the mountains in the afternoons but nothing that reached us. We had some very slight South, Southeast breeze during the afternoons.
Air temperatures: Low 77 High 97
Water temperatures: 87 to 90
Beach Fishing Report: The beach this past week picked up with the water clearing from last week’s rains. We have plenty of ladyfish along with some roosters in front of Rancho Leonero. I also found some pretty good fishing for small roosterfish and jacks in the area of Punta Colorado Hotel.
Inshore Fishing Report: This past week the inshore fishing picked up as well with the clearing of the water. We are seeing a variety of fish including roosterfish, pargo, amberjack, pompano, and a few smaller dorado.
Offshore Fishing Report: The fishing offshore this past week continued to be excellent for marlin, tuna and dorado. We have marlin and sail fish thru out the bay any where from La Ribera to Cabo Pulmo. Most of the fish are being found from two to ten miles offshore. The tuna continue to be from Cabo Pulmp to the white sand cliffs and they are aggressive taking almost any sardine pattern that hits the water. The dorado bite is still steady with most of the fish being between fifteen and forty pounds.
High-light of the Week: This past week I continued to fish with my guest from last weeks report Giovanni Petronio who hails from Italy. One day we dedicated strictly to catching marlin. On this day we had seventeen fish come to the teasers thru out the day. We hooked seven and got three to the boat. It was a bill fishing day that will stick out in our minds for a long time to come.

Weather: This past week we woke up to a good rain on Monday morning. By Tuesday it was back to beautiful an sunny with lot’s oh humidity.
Air temperatures: Low 77 High 97
Water temperatures: 83 to 87
Beach Fishing Report: The beach this past week was once again disturbed from the very heavy rain we saw early in the week. The water is very off color due to all the arroyo’s running from the rain. The fishing from the beach should pick up as the water clears.
Inshore Fishing Report: This past week the inshore fishing is the same as the beach. The water is very off color throughout most of the area. It is getting better daily but it will be another few days before it is back to normal.
Offshore Fishing Report: The fishing offshore this past week was excellent for marlin as well as tuna and we even have seen some very good dorado action. The tuna are showing again in Cabo Pulmo but the big bite has been down south about forty miles. Here the bite has been fantastic. I was here with my guest Giovanni Petronio from Malon Italy and he caught and released over twenty yellow fins the day we decided to take the long ride. The marlin bite has bee very good throughout the area. We have seen an increase in sailfish as well. The have been about fifteen miles out and have been biting aggressively. We have seen some increase in blue marlin as well. As far as the dorado action we have seen an increase in dorado under the floating debris from the recent rains. Most of the fish are between eight and twenty pounds. We do have some very large dorado as well.
High-light of the Week: This past week the fishing really picked up. I would have to say the day with Giovanni was the highlight. All those tuna boiling around the boat just gobbling up flies it was something to see.

Weather: This past week we had excellent weather. The mornings were very pleasant with clear skies and calm seas. We did see the temperatures climb again this past week making the middle of the day very warm but with the breeze we saw from the south, southeast it was manageable.
Air temperatures: Low 77 High 97
Water temperatures: 75 to 87
Beach Fishing Report: The beach this past week fished quite well. The water from the storm has cleared and we found excellent numbers of ladyfish as well as some smaller to medium roosterfish mixed in. We are seeing the bait again and this along with the clear water I think the beach fishing will start to take off again in the next couple of weeks.
Inshore Fishing Report: This past week the inshore fishing was good with some dorado found just off shore around the light house as well as some good pargo and rooster fishing out in front of La Ribera. My friend Dennis Spike told me he also found some very nice amberjack and jacks while fishing off his kayak.
Offshore Fishing Report: The fishing offshore this past week was excellent for marlin. The marlin were found anywhere from Cabo Pulmo to La Ribera. We also saw some very large dorado mixed in with the marlin. We did have some tuna off of the light house out about fifteen miles. Most of these fish were between eight and twenty pounds. If you wanted to chase really big tuna then ride was to the south for about forty miles. Their boat’s found some very nice tuna averaging around forty pounds with some fish taken over a hundred pounds.
High-light of the Week: This past week was the Bisbee East Cape Offshore Tournament. The 54 boats that entered had a very successful week. Their were 173 billfish caught (32 blues, 129 stripe marlin, 12 sailfish) with the winning fish, a blue marlin of 418 pounds being taken by Keith Jones from Chatsworth, CA. This fish won him a total of $ 152,411.00. For full results of the tournament log on to www.rancholeonero.com and click on fishing report.
