Weather: This past week the North winds continued.  We saw one or two windless days. The boats that took advantage of these days and got out fishing were rewarded with some pretty good fishing.

Air temperatures: Low 58  High 81

Water temperatures:
Low 70  High 76

Beach Fishing Report:
This past week the key to fishing the beach remained getting out early before the wind.  If you did sierra was still the main target with a few lady fish and small roosters mixed in if you were in the right spot at the right time.

Inshore Fishing Report:
On the days that some of the boats went out the inshore fishing for smaller Dorado off of La Ribera was pretty good with each boat getting at least a couple.

Offshore Fishing Report:
I talked to one of my friends this week.  He is a captain in one of the hotels and he said this week the days the boats got out they found some smaller Dorado closer to shore off La Ribera as I mentioned above.  He also said they found some nice size Yellow fin Tuna with some porpoise out about ten miles off of Cabo Pulmo.  He said the tuna ranged between fifteen and twenty five pounds.  He also said the boats are still seeing some scattered marlin in the area.

High-light of the Week:
This past week I spent some time guiding guests in Cabo San Lucas.  I had a great day with Mel and Pam McConnel form Bend Oregon.  We had a great day of fishing.  Mel and Pam are big sturgeon anglers and decided they would like to fish conventional even though they both fly fish.  Between the two of them Mel and Pam managed to hook ten Marlin off the golden gate bank landing seven of them.  They were also able to get one nice Dorado of about twenty five pounds.  We had an excellent day.  I will be returning to Cabo for most of next week to guide more guests.  I will let you all know how we do.  I hope everyone had a very happy and safe new year!!   I look forward to seeing you in 2007!

Weather: This past week the North winds continued.  Not may clouds and a lot of sun but the North winds did not let up.

Air temperatures: Low 61  High 83

Water temperatures:
Low 71  High 77

Beach Fishing Report:
This past week the key to fishing the beach remained getting out early before the wind.  If you did sierra was still the main target with a few lady fish and small roosters mixed in if you were in the right spot at the right time.

Inshore Fishing Report:
With the winds it was difficult.  Mostly sierra and a few amberjack were the catches for those that ventured out.

Offshore Fishing Report:
Most of the offshore action remains out of Cabo.  I will be their fishing with clients most of next week so I will keep you updated.

High-light of the Week:
I hope everyone has a very safe and happy holiday season.

Weather: This past week we continued to see the North winds for most of the week.  We got a break form them as Saturday the 16th and today the 17th were very calm and nice.

Air temperatures: Low 61  High 83

Water temperatures:
Low 71  High 77

Beach Fishing Report:
This past week the key to fishing the beach remained getting out early before the wind came up.  I got out yesterday early morning and found some nice sierra along the beach just south of Rancho Leonero Hotel.  I did manage to catch a few ladyfish and got two small roosters as well.  I lost a few flies to the sierra so once again remember the wire bite tippet or use long shank hooks for your flies.

Inshore Fishing Report:
I heard of a few small dorado and a few pargo being caught this past week inshore.  Most of the action was south of Cabo Pulmo.

Offshore Fishing Report:
Most of the offshore action has moved south down around Gordo Bank and Golden Gate Bank both out of Cabo.  Both areas have been good for marlin, tuna, and dorado.

High-light of the Week:
Mag bay is still going strong.  Boni Galvan of Galvan fly  reels came back down and had a very good trip catching twelve marlin on his first day fishing.

Weather: This past week we continued to see the North winds for most of the week.  We did have one day of overcast skies with even a few sprinkles on Thursday December 7th.  Other than that we have had clear and cool nights with the temperatures warming up nicely during the day.

Air temperatures: Low 61  High 79

Water temperatures:
Low 72  High 78

Beach Fishing Report:
If fishing from the beach this past week you needed to get out early to avoid the North winds.  If you did that you had a good shot a getting some sierra.  Sierra are happening in the early mornings (just before sun up) and lasting until the winds pick up around ten in the morning.  We do also have a few lady fish and a few small rooster fish in the area as well but the majority is sierra.  Remember to use a long shank hooks or a small piece of wire to avoid getting cut off by the sharp teeth of the sierra.  If you use a long shank hook you will get more strikes than if you use wire but you will ultimately loose more flies.  Remember sierra love flies with lots of flash so if tying your own a little extra flash won’t hurt.

Inshore Fishing Report:
We are still seeing a few tuna and dorado in the Cabo Pulmo area.  The boats are using chunked squid for bait as the sardines have migrated out of the area.  Some of the boats have reported good amberjack fishing in front of La Ribera also using squid for bait.

Offshore Fishing Report:
It is very late in the season but we are still seeing a few bill fish in the area.  The hotel boats are still reporting some action for stripe marlin and the occasional blue.  The marlins were found over an area that extends from Cabo Pulmo North to just south of Ceralvo Island.

High-light of the Week:
This past week I spent a day in Cabo San Lucas fishing with my client Mike Boyd form Wichita Kansas and his wife.  We have fished in the East Cape before and had excellent fishing.  Mike was in Cabo and wanted to give it a shot.  We found a good number of tuna that were running with a school of porpoise about sixteen miles off the light house.  It was a great day with calm seas warm temperatures and some great company.

Weather: This past week we saw the return of the North winds.  They blew staring early in the week and remained throughout the entire week.  The early mornings were cool with the day time highs still in the lower 80’.

Air temperatures: Low 60  High 82

Water temperatures:
Low 74  High 83

Beach Fishing Report:
With the return of the winds and the migration of the sardine out of the area you needed to get out early.  If you did you had a chance to catch sierra, some small roosters and ladyfish.  Most of the action took place before sunrise until the wind came up mid morning.  The water is stirred and off color but the fish are still there.

Inshore Fishing Report:
Inshore this past week was difficult with the winds but I did hear of a few dorado being caught around the light house.

Offshore Fishing Report:
This past week the fishing for marlin and sailfish remained pretty active given it is this late in the year.  The fish are strung out from Cabo Pulmo North to the 88.  We still have some blue marlin in the area as the largest blue marlin caught this year out of Rancho Leonero hotel was taken this past week.

High-light of the Week:
This past week I spent a day in Cabo San Lucas fishing with my client Walter Gradek.  We had some slow fishing catching some dorado but he will be back in February.
