Weather: This past week we had some very nice weather to begin the week but by midweek the North wind kicked up once again and did not let up.  We saw very nice days with lots of sunshine and over night lows that were a little warmer than most highs in the states.

Air temperatures: Low 60  High 68

Water temperatures:
Low 66  High 72

Beach Fishing Report:
If you got out early and beat the wind you had a good chance at some small roosterfish along with a few lady fish.  We are also starting to see some very nice jacks along our shores but they all seemed a little spooky and did not seem interested flies that were cast to them.

Inshore Fishing Report:
Inshore fishing this past week remained fair sierra but once the wind kicked up it was back to shore.

Offshore Fishing Report:
The boats that got out early in the week continued to find some scattered marlin and dorado.

High-light of the Week:As I write this report I am currently in Cabo fishing with guests.  I am staying with my good friends George and Mary Landrum.  Fishing has been pretty good for the inshore species including sierra and yellowtail.  Yesterday I fished with my long time client and friend Walter Gradek.  Walter wanted to fish for marlin on the fly and although we saw a few we could not get them to bite.  This seemed to be the case with many of the boats yesterday.  I will be here all week guiding other guests and Walter and I are fishing again at the end of the week.  I will let everyone know the details of these trips in next weeks report.

Weather: This past week we saw a little of everything when it came to the North winds.  We started the week with some strong winds and got a break from them for three days mid week and by the weekend they had returned.  The temperatures have been very pleasant and the night time lows did not dip quite as low this past week making the early mornings slightly chilly and not down right cold.

Air temperatures: Low 57  High 79

Water temperatures:
Low 66  High 71

Beach Fishing Report:
The fishing along the beach continued to be very good when the wind subsided.  We had very good catches this past week.  We found lots of small rooster fish along with very good numbers of lady fish and even the occasional pompano and Mexican look down mixed in.  The beach fishing was very good this past week in and around the area of Hotel Rancho Leonero.

Inshore Fishing Report:
Inshore fishing this past week was excellent for nice sized jacks and lots of ladyfish and even the occasional yellowtail.

Offshore Fishing Report:
This past we continued to see some stripe marlin in the area along with a few very nice sized dorado.  Most of the fish were out in front of La Ribera off shore about six miles.

High-light of the Week: This past week was full of excitement for me as my very close friend and guide Jeff Solis took part in filming a television show that will be shown on the Verses network later this summer entitled adventure guides.  We found some excellent fishing for our guests for the show Justin Crump and Chris Owens who most of you know as the trout bums.  On day one we found plenty of good marlin action with a double hook up on two very nice stripe marlin after having the teasers in the water for only ten minutes.  Later that day we found some very nice dorado that did not seem to camera shy.  On the second day of the shoot we found excellent action from the beach with Justin and Chris each catching double digit numbers of small roosterfish with the occasional lady fish mixed in.  The third day of shooting we found excellent action on lady fish along with jacks and more small rooster fish as we fished close to shore out of pangas.  I was able to get sardines and boy did the fish respond.  This past week Jeff and I got lucky as the wind calmed and the water was flat as we filmed the show. As the film crew left the wind started again.  I finished the week fishing out of Cabo San Lucas with my guest Joe Coakley from Kirkland Washington where we also had a very good day with good catches of sierra, some very nice gaff top sail pompano and lots green jacks and one very nice yellow tail.

Weather: This past week was one of the nicest weeks we have seen in quite a while.  The North winds were virtually nonexistent and we had plenty of sunshine with some very comfortable temperatures.  The night time lows were warmer as well making this past week very pleasant here in Baja.

Air temperatures: Low 55  High 79

Water temperatures:
Low 66  High 71

Beach Fishing Report:
The fishing along the beach this past week was some of the best we have seen over the last few weeks.  With the lack of wind I was able to get out a few mornings this past week and found fishing to be a little hit or miss at times but over all I would say it was pretty good for the middle of February.  I had my best luck fishing form eight in the morning until around ten thirty.  I was able to find a few sierras along with the occasional ladyfish and I even found a school of small roosters that were willing to play.

Inshore Fishing Report:
Most of the boats that went out this past week took advantage of the weather and headed off shore looking for fish.

Offshore Fishing Report:
The boats that got out this week form Hotel Palmas de Cortez did well with catches of stripe marlin, tuna and smaller dorado.  Talking with a couple of my friends who are captains in the hotel they found very good action for  dorado down around the area of Cabo Pulmo with the tuna coming from a school of porpoise that were located off shore about twenty five miles out in front of La Ribera.  As far as the marlin they have seemed to be scattered throughout the area from Frailes to Punta Pescadero.

High-light of the Week:
If we can get another week of good weather the fishing should continue to be good considering it is almost the middle of February.  I will be guiding in Cabo san Lucas for a few days next week and I have had report of a good fishing for tuna and some very nice skip jack off the inner Gordo bank.  I will let every one know what we find, so make sure to check next weeks report.
