Weather: This week we saw some very interesting weather. Most of the morning's this past week angler's woke up to large fog banks throughout the region that lasted quite some time each day and in some cases untill noon. We have had no wind this past week making for very calm seas and beautiful day's once the fog burned off.
Air temperatures: Low 63
High 85
Water temperatures: 63 to 76
Beach Fishing Report: The beach this past week was difficult. We have very green water along the beaches making for some tough fishing. My client's and I did manage to find a few ladyfish and the occasional sierra and pompano mixed in. As far as bait we are starting to see a little more each day and with in a short time the green water should clear making for some very good fishing.
Inshore Fishing Report: this past week the inshore was very difficult. The green water described above extends several miles out making the inshore fishing spotty at best. I did find a few yellowfin tuna this past week.
Offshore Fishing Report: This wek I spent most of the time with my clients off shore. We were an average of thirty-five miles out off of the lighthouse. The blue water was full of life. We were able to find dorado in the thirty pound class, along with stripe marlin and even a few sailfish.
High-light of the Week: If you were willing to take the boat ride outside it was well worth it.

Weather: The weather this past week has been typical for spring time in Baja. We started the week with the winds blowing out of the North but by mid week the winds had calmed and the seas flattened. These conditions continued throughout the rest of the week and thru the weekend. We have seen great temperatures this week with bright blue skies. The early mornings remain very cool with the lack of cloud cover but once the sun gets over the horizon it has warmed up fast.
Air temperatures: Low 52
High 86
Water temperatures: 63 to 73
Beach Fishing Report: This past week fishing from the beach was difficult early in the week due to the wind and waves crashing the beach and stirring up the water. As the seas flattened the bait started to show. I fished to the North a few mornings this past week and I found good bait and a fair number of ladyfish and a few sierras. I was told that the ladyfish bite continued to be fair in front of Rancho Leonero hotel.
Inshore Fishing Report: White Bonita and sierra very early in the morning continue to be the most action found inshore this past week. Ladyfish were also in the mix as well. I did hear of a few Pargo as well. Not many rooster fish reported this week but they are starting to show on the Pacific side and with any luck and light winds we might begin to see some on this side in the very near future.
Offshore Fishing Report: This past week it really did not matter if you went north or south a few fish were found. To the North stripe marlin were found and a few Dorado were mixed in as well. If you chose to go to the south you encountered more marlin and Dorado and a few yellow fin tuna and even a couple of wahoo mixed in as well.
High-light of the Week: This week my guest West Mathison from Wenatchee Washington and I fished over out of Cabo San Lucas where we had a great day. West and I decided to try and get in on some of the yellowtail action taking place over their. We decided to go ahead and try to catch these fish using live bait. We did not have the bait in the water for more than ten minutes and west had his first yellowtail. It was a very good fish of just over twenty pounds. Over the next hour we hooked another three. After the great start to the morning we decided to break out the fly rods and with time we found the sierras and west once again hooked up. We also throughout the day were able to find a few roosterfish and west ended his day catching a couple of these great fish. West said he is looking forward to coming back and fishing these waters again as soon as he can.

Weather: This past week
the North winds continued to be strong during the first part of
the week but by Wednesday (3/15) they settled to give us some
very calm conditions and very nice spring weather that continued
thru the rest of the week. We did see some slightly overcast
skies the last few days of the week making for perfect days no
matter what your activity.
Air temperatures: Low 56
High 88
Water temperatures: 63 to 73
Beach Fishing Report: This past week
fishing from the beach early in the week was very difficult but
as the North winds decreased and the water cleared the fishing
early in the morning for lady fish and sierra was pretty good.
The bite was very close to shore and just south of Rancho Leonero
hotel. The bite started before light and continued thru
mid morning. The sierra bite was over fairly early with
the lady fish and even a few small jacks willing to take a fly
for most of the morning.
Inshore Fishing Report: This past week
the inshore fishing was fair for some White Bonita and a few Pargo.
We have some schools of small mackerel starting to show close
to shore so if the weather holds and the seas stay calm we should
see the inshore action start to pick up. I did hear of a
few rooster fish being sighted this past week but did not hear
of any roosters being caught.
Offshore Fishing Report: The fishing
for Dorado and marlin continues to be to the south. Most
of the boats are reporting the fish are slightly south of Cabo
Pulmo and out between twelve and fifteen miles. The fish
continue to be between twelve and twenty pounds with a few larger
fish mixed in. The Marlin continues to be in the same area
as the Dorado and each boat is reporting to have fair fishing
for these stripers with each boat hooking a couple each day.
We have also had a few sword fish in the area and that is always
exciting.
High-light of the Week: This week my
guest Dean Hernandez form Hailey Idaho and great trip. As
Dean arrived the wind was blowing here in the East Cape so we
decided to get up early one morning and drive over to Cabo San
Lucas. We had a great day as we encountered some very large
Sierra along with good numbers of Pompano and some very large
jacks. As the winds subsided here in the East Cape we fished
the beach early in the mornings and found great action for lady
fish and a few sierras mixed in. Dean is already planning
on a return trip in October.

Weather: This past week
the North winds continued to be strong with one day in the beginning
of the week where it was fairly calm.
We have seen a few more clouds this week with a light rain in the
very early morning hours on Wednesday. As I write this report
the wind outside is rearing it’s ugly head again and the skies
are slightly overcast.
Air temperatures: Low 59
High 85
Water temperatures: 63 to 73
Beach Fishing Report: This past week
fishing from the beach continued to be very difficult. The
early morning bite was really not to be found as the water was discolored
form the previous days winds for most of the week.
Inshore Fishing Report: This past week
the inshore fishing was very difficult. I did hear of a few
Pargo being caught up to the north. The sierra bite has seemed
to drop off dramatically but there are still a few being reported
in the early morning hours before the winds come up.
Offshore Fishing Report: We still have
a few Dorado scattered to the south. The marlin bite has dropped
as the fish have moved a considerable distance south and most of
the boats and anglers are not willing to fight the strong winds
coming home.
High-light of the Week: We had one calm
day this past week and I did hear of a couple of boats that went
out a very long way (almost seventy miles they stated) to explore
and see what they could find. On this calm day and with the
very long ride they were rewarded by finding schools of porpoise
and very nice yellow fin tuna that were willing to bite just about
anything that was presented. They reported that the tuna were
between twenty five and fifty pounds and very aggressive.
It looks as if things will start early this year.
