Hi folks,

This past week was a really great week here in Baja. I spent time with guests on the beach here in the East Cape as well as spending time with other guests fly fishing the Pacific out of Cabo San Lucas and we had a blast!

Here at home in the East Cape we saw prefect weather with flat calm seas and virtually no wind. I spent time with my guests that I had here this past week focusing on the beach since had ideal conditions.  We were able to find lot’s of bait on most of the beaches we looked at. Once we found the  bait we had some pretty amazing action for some small to medium roosterfish as well as some medium to large jacks.  Most of the action was in the mornings, however we did find a little action later in the day on two of the days we fished.  We did find some Sierra but it was at dawn and it only lasted the first hour of light and then the bite is over.

The fishing out of the boat here in the East Cape has been consistent as well. Although I spent the week on the beach I did hear that there is some good actin for Bonita as well as a few roosterfish and jacks from the boat.  I also heard of a few bill fish being found but not really wanting to bite. The bill fish bite should pick up soon. If it’s anything like last year in another month or so it will be in full swing and we the action will be non stop.

As I mentioned I spent a couple days fishing with guests out of Cabo San Lucas as well this past week.  The sea conditions were a little sloppy but the fishing made us forget about the bad conditions  We had great action for smaller roosterfish in the 3-5 pound class as well as smaller jacks. The action was non stop from about 10am on and we also found excellent fly fishing for Sierra. They are usually a morning fish but they were in full eating mode during the afternoon as well which is rare but we had a blast.

Starting tomorrow Monday the 14th I will be on the Pacific side fishing with guests for most of the week in Cabo. I will be back in the East Cape on Friday. If the fishing was at all like it was last week I should have some good photo’s and a positive report for you next week. I still have a few dates left during the prime season so if you are thinking about fishing with us I suggest you inquire soon as they are going fast. I am looking forward to getting back on the water tomorrow and the rest of the up coming week. I will be sure to post here next week how it all went down. I hope everyone has a great week and find some time to get out and go fishing! Until next week…
