Last week we had a storm brewing off the coast. Overall the storm only brought in a bit of rain and no damage due to the wind. Over the last week, the water has been clearing up nicely. The dorado bite that was wide open a few weeks ago has tapered off but there are still some nice fish around. In the next few weeks, we expect the dorado bite to be solid.

On the outside:  a few boats have been coming in with marlin flags plus the tuna bite is strong offshore. However, it’s a long ride out to find them, but when you do the action is exciting.

On the inside: Roosters are cruising the beaches and several grande fish have been sen this week. We had a few exciting chases but the fish are spooky. In the mix is big jacks inshore. We saw several in the 50lb range this last week. Several dates are open July-August if anyone is considering coming down now is the time to book. We are out this week with clients so look out for some great pics coming soon.

Had a little wind from the North for a couple days this last week which was strange for this time of year.

The beach has been OK.  A few fish are around and the crowds were out in full force but it’s not overwhelming. Overall there is a great mix of species right now. Small roosters in the marina, plus Jacks, and snappers as well.

Outside we are seeing great dorado & marlin fishing as well. The pompano fishing has been nothing but fantastic this last week. Bigger roosters are further out but very picky. When we do get one to eat its a ton of fun.

Lots of tuna 30 & 40 miles out with porpoise. Close to home, we are finding tuna off the lighthouse fishing sinking lines and finding a 45 pounders in the mix.

Fishing is only going to get better as the sardines show up and the wind drops off as we hit the beaches sight fishing roosters and jacks. Grande rooster season is here. Every week we will see more & more fish on the beaches.  If anyone has questions please feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to discuss availability.

Tight lines,

Jeff

The season is here. Schools of big jacks on the outside are very exciting right now. The other day we rolled up on a school of 300+ jacks crashing bait. Exciting! We got some action even myself.
Roosters are pretty good right now in the deeper water. Our clients got into some great action over the last few weeks. Not a ton on the beach but a few fish can be seen cruising the shallows looking for bait. In the next weeks, the beach will be ready for action a the water warms.

Most roosters and jacks are starting to get into spawn mode in the next few weeks if you can get down here asap. Marlin is slow overall but there are some reports of anglers finding some marlin in the outside
The tuna bite has slowed over the last week or so compared to a few weeks ago. Just a week ago the tuna bite was wide open. However, we will see them back shortly as the water warms so get down here asap. Jeremy Cameron from flies and fins was here recently and to say Jeremy got a good work out form some awesome fish would be an understatement.  They had an amazing time.

We will be out on the water again every day this week and I will be sure to let everyone know how the fishing treats us.  I am going to do my very best to keep you all informed at least once a week if not more.  With me being out early and home late sometimes I may miss a call but i will reach out as soon as I can. Please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email as I will be happy to give you the up to the minute report.

Until next time……..good fishing.
