The season is here. Schools of big jacks on the outside are very exciting right now. The other day we rolled up on a school of 300+ jacks crashing bait. Exciting! We got some action even myself.
Roosters are pretty good right now in the deeper water. Our clients got into some great action over the last few weeks. Not a ton on the beach but a few fish can be seen cruising the shallows looking for bait. In the next weeks, the beach will be ready for action a the water warms.

Most roosters and jacks are starting to get into spawn mode in the next few weeks if you can get down here asap. Marlin is slow overall but there are some reports of anglers finding some marlin in the outside
The tuna bite has slowed over the last week or so compared to a few weeks ago. Just a week ago the tuna bite was wide open. However, we will see them back shortly as the water warms so get down here asap. Jeremy Cameron from flies and fins was here recently and to say Jeremy got a good work out form some awesome fish would be an understatement.  They had an amazing time.

We will be out on the water again every day this week and I will be sure to let everyone know how the fishing treats us.  I am going to do my very best to keep you all informed at least once a week if not more.  With me being out early and home late sometimes I may miss a call but i will reach out as soon as I can. Please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email as I will be happy to give you the up to the minute report.

Until next time……..good fishing.

 Jeff

Week of December 5th.

Sorry for the delay in the reports. Its been busy over here with some very happy clients. Scroll through for some pics below.

Mag Bay: Recently we where in Mag Bay for the last few weeks. To say the very least mag Bay is just incredible at the moment. Over the last few weeks we have had some really happy guests fishing with us. The marlin bite is some of the best we have seen in years off Thetis Banks. With the great marlin bite we have lots of tuna and dorado in the mix.  The mangroves are as good as it get right now. Our clients are hooking into some awesome snook, bonefish, grouper, jacks, plus several species of pargos. These species are fantastic on light rods and gave our clients lots of action.

East Cape: The weather has been holding steady recently. On good weather days we are seeing some big cruising roosters with a few small ones to. Since theirs a ton of bait in the area there is some decent fish being caught. The beach is also seeing ladyfish, jack and a few pompano as well. The other day i was walking on the beach with my son when we saw a bait ball getting destroyed by roosters. Only problem was that I didn’t have a rod!

I’ll be around this holiday season so if anyone wants some time on the water in Mag Bay, or Cabo feel free to give us a call. We have a few open dates and ready to do some fishing!

Tight lines,

Jeff

Week of September 5th

The storm that hit last week is long gone with no new storms on the horizon.  On the east cape side, the town is up and running with all facilities open as well as all hotels. Everything is normal here in the east cape.  Cabo got hit hard and is still cleaning up but doing well overall. Even though Cabo is in full clean up mode that does not mean it’s No reason not to come. The fishing on the east cape is fantastic!

The beach fishing is so, so and hit or miss at the moment. It all depends on where you are overall and if you put in some time you will find some fish off the beach. Water clarity is getting better daily. The best spots to hit now are where the arroyos are running into the beaches. There is lots of bait and fishing is great but the water is off color, so it’s all blind fishing. We are catching all kinds of species including jacks, roosters, small Bonita, snapper and needle fish. All great fun on light rods.

LOT’S OF SARDINES AROUND!! Great bait for inshore and off shore expeditions which are all producing incredible fishing. Offshore the Dorado fishing is awesome!!  Lots of fish in and around the debris from the storm. Also, lots of tuna and skip jack out there in the mix. All perfect fly rod size and tons of fun. If anyone has any interest in coming down to get into so great fishing I would recommend coming down ASAP. The fishing is extremely solid and we have some dates available for guiding. Things in Mag Bay are heating up!! Fishing there this year is going to be awesome as the water cools down and our season starts in early November in Mag Bay. I still have a few dates open for Mag Bay so let me know if there are any questions I can answer.

Tight lines,

Jeff
